Is Online Poker Rigged?

I recently made a deposit on Full Tilt and have been playing micro limit hold em as well as small 2 dollar buy in tournaments.

I’m a decent enough player who tries his best to only play premium hands. Problem is, I am regularly getting beat while holding hands like pocket aces,AK,KKs,QQs etc.. and the beats are just crazy, I’m loosing to hands like 4 of a kind, straight flushes often so that when I make what I perceive to be a great hand, some idiot who played total trash is check raising me with the nuts…

I play low limits in the Atlantic City and at Foxwoods and have had good success beating the 2-4 and 4-8 limit games but online I can barely if at all beat a 10 cent 20 cent game….

What gives, am I playing against bots? is the deck be electronically loaded against me ? Online poker rooms are not based in the US,so I think fair play is a fair question since I suspect their is no equivalent to the casino control commision to regulate and insure fair play…

Am I wrong ?

  1. Online Poker is not rigged. The bad thing about poker is that the game can change so fast. And you say that you get beat with AA well its a fact that you lose with that hand more times than you win.

More than one on line poker site has been busted for robo hands. Never use real money playing on line. Save your cash and go to Vegas.

Being an above average live player doesn’t always necessarily translate to being a good online player.

You answered your own question when you said “…I’m loosing to hands like 4 of a kind, straight flushes often so that when I make what I perceive to be a great hand, some idiot who played total trash is check raising me with the nuts…”

Bad players exist at all stake levels, but even worse players dwell in the micros. Since they don’t worry too much about a little bit of money, and since they don’t have to show their face, they feel free to play bad hands and chase impossible draws. And since you have at least 3x more hands per hour live and with more bad players seeing flops and chasing draws, you certainly DO hit more bad beats.

When you have the opportunity, try playing the $2/4 and $4/8 limit games ONLINE. You’ll notice a great difference in game play than the micros. Trust me! You’ll likely see somewhat tighter players and less bad beats than you’re used to.

Have to agree with the others – there are vastly more bad beats online, but that’s due to bad players, not bad software.

some are rigged, others aren’t. Many have been caught in the past, I would be wary.
